Understanding the Training Year

At Ignite Athletic Club, we use a concept called periodization. This ensures that youth athletes are not just working out, but training with a specific purpose based on their sport's schedule.

The Pre-Season: Priming for Performance

As the season approaches, the emphasis shifts toward speed development and explosive power. This is the bridge between the heavy lifting of the off-season and the high-speed demands of the game. Keywords for this phase: agility, reaction time, and conditioning.

The In-Season: The Durability Phase

Many athletes make the mistake of stopping their weight room work once the season starts. This leads to strength loss and increased injury risk. Injury prevention is the primary goal here. By maintaining muscle strength and mobility, Ignite athletes stay on the field while their competitors are in the training room.

The Off-Season: The Season of Growth

The off-season is the most critical time for strength and conditioning. This is when we focus on the Elite Athlete Development program. We take a deep dive into performance metrics, using data-driven training to increase vertical jump, rotational power, and raw speed.
